Holiday Gifts, Stocking Stuffers

I really have been bad lately not updating...Anyway, I have been Christmas shopping so I have some new ideas for gifts. I decided to go shopping last Sunday morning and I woke up early to avoid the crowds. I got to the mall by 10ish, and it wasn't too crowded, later on it got worse...but I was already almost done with my shopping so it didn't bother me too much! My first idea for gifts is personalized ornaments. Many malls have the kiosk Santa's Pen, that will personalize ornaments for anyone you desire. They have the cutest ornaments such as, christmas trees, decorated mantels with stockings that you can have your family's name put onto and many more. They even had ornaments for teachers if you have a teacher in the family or for your child's teacher. So really cute things there. Plus, most ornaments are under $20 and personalization is free! Below is the link to their site, and you can even view their catalog online!

Macy's...I always spend my time holiday shopping at Macy's. One of the reasons I got to the mall so early was to look around while the Early Morning sale was still going on. Usually, they have the sale going on in the morning until noon. They have early morning specials on most items in the store at this time. They also run so many sales (save an extra 20%) if you use your Macy's card. I also get alot of coupons in the mail from them that you can use as well. So all in all, I end up saving alot of money there. So check it out!

Stocking Stuffers:

I tend to get stocking stuffers at Walmart. This way I can bascially get everything I need to fill up stockings at once. I like to get my parents little things for their stockings since in past years when I was small, they were quite empty. This year I got gum, mentos, candy, makeup for my mom, and lotion. I love the Calgon Morning Glory spray and lotion they have at Walmart. It's a light scent that isn't too strong to wear everyday. They have a small 2oz lotion and spray ($1.82) that's great for your purse. It hardly takes up any room and you can carry it around without even noticing it's there.
This is the perfume of Calgon Morning Glory, that is stronger than just the spray. It's more expensive by a few dollars. The bigger spray is around $5.90...this I think is around $7-8.00.
The next item that I just recently bought is Cover Girl Professional Mascara. It's on sale this week at Walmart $3.98, which is a great price for mascara. I really like it because it curls your lashes really well. I've been looking for mascara with this type of brush because I'm afraid to use an eyelash curler. I don't know why they just always looked kinda scary. So this way, the brush curls your lashes for you, and it also adds some volume as well. I really like this mascara! They also have it in a straight brush and in waterproof. I usually get waterproof, but they only had it in a straight brush. But this mascara is a great and fun stocking stuffer! I love buying makeup and putting it in the stocking so much better than socks or even candy.
So happy shopping! I'm almost done with everything...just have to pick up a few more things. I will be updating on more items I can across on my shopping spree. I got Mac eyeshadow that I need to talk about and some Nordstrom sweaters...So stay tuned. Happy Holidays!

Holiday Gifts

So I know it's been a while since I've updated...But anyway, it seems like the holidays are coming up so soon this year and I'm not ready! It feels like it gets earlier and earlier! I haven't started my shopping yet, at least not for anyone but me! haha..I have to decide what I'm going to get...But anyway, I went to the mall to get some cute little gifts for Christmas. They have such cute Christmas and holiday items at Gertrude Hawk. Gertrude Hawk is a specialty candy store that has small boxes of all kinds of candy. They also have larger boxes of candy (milk, dark, white chocolate) chocolate covered pretzels, lollipops, non parels and many more items. In addition to their multitude of varieties of chocolate, they decorate the boxes with little ornaments which are very cute for the holidays! They also have cute snowmen figurines and so many adorable holiday decorations! Check out their online store, and you can also sign up to get a free catalog. Happy Holidays! :)

Cute basic sweaters,

So it has been a while since I've updated. I unlike much of America didn't go shopping over the Thanksgiving Weekend. All the crowds associated with Black Friday, really aren't for me. I need ample space to shop and think about what I'm getting. Plus all the lines, and no parking...that and waking up really early to beat other shoppers to the mall...I figured I would just wait a few days to go back to the mall. I did though, order a coat online over the weekend. I'll post a picture of it if I can.

So I went to Nordstrom as usual and began looking around for some sweaters. Basic sweaters, round neck, v-neck, and turtleneck are great for adding some basics to your wardrobe. You can wear them to the office paired with dress pants or a skirt. They're also great for just wearing with skinny jeans and my favorite pair of Uggs.

Nordstrom has so many sweaters in all varieties of colors. I got a sweater like the one pictured on the left. They're $32 and good for working or just hanging around. I bought a few last year in different colors and wore them a lot during the season. I just got another in black and darker purple.

They also have this sweater for $44. It also comes in black and grey, and maybe a few other colors. You can wear it to the office, if you work in a casual atmosphere. It's also great for wearing out to dinner if you find a cute cami to put under it. They had many cute camis in the junior's department as well.

Cute turtleneck sweater $32. Good for all occasions! Comes in lots of colors. You can dress it up with a long necklace that can be found in this department as well!

I had mentioned that I ordered a coat online this past weekend. I really wanted something that was cute and a little dressier than the ones I have with hoods. I needed something that wasn't black, since most of my coats are black. So this is what I decided to get, I hope it fits! It was $98.00, which isn't bad for a coat.

A plus for Nordstrom because even their non-designer items are of great quality. All the clothes I've bought from their junior BP* department have lasted me at least a year. I'm on my second season with everything I've bought from last year. This department is very large and houses handbags, earrings, wallets, necklaces, and many other accessories as well. So if you haven't already, check out their junior department! It's my favorite!

Bachelor, Private Practice, New Ballet Flats,

Ok so...Did the bachelor make any sense to anyone? I mean, I was all excited thinking he would pick one of the girls and he didn't pick either one! Seriously! Then, when he confronted them last night at After the Final Rose Ceremony, he couldn't really explain himself. I guess he just didn't feel it for either girl. It's just sad. I did feel really bad for both girls and also for him. Deanna really did love, if not like him alot. So it was a sad world in the bachelor. Sounds stupid if you didn't watch it, but I did really get into it.

Private Practice: ABC 9pm: Wednesday.

One of my new favorite shows is Private Practice. In case you've never watched it, I'll give a little summary. Addison Shepard (from Grey's Anatomy) has moved down to Los Angeles to work in her friend's practice. It's co-op in Santa Monica and takes a very modern approach to medicine. They have a pediatrician (Dr. Cooper in navy blue), a therapist, holistic healer (Addison's love interest and guy closest on the left). Naomi is co-owner of the practice with her ex-husband Sam, both pictured in the back of the photo. Just like Grey's Anatomy, the doctors are able (most of the time) to help their patients but all have problems of their own. The show is heartfelt as it chronicles the troubles of the day's patients, and also in their own lives. I must also say the receptionist William, is very cute. So def. check that show out! I watched it from the first episode and really loved it.

Shoes: Jessica Simpson ballet flats. Cost $75.
I just got these new shoes in black leather (pictured above in patent leather) last week. They're sooo comfortable I can wear them bascially all day. I was very surprised too because usually I buy a cute shoe like this and wear it for twenty minutes and it's already bothering me. But these, I wore on job interviews all day last week and my feet didn't hurt at all. I also had to do a lot of walking to and from parking lots, and I have to say they were sooo comfortable. They have a little heel, which is good for me cause I'm 5'7ish. They don't make you too tall, but also give a little heel which helps when wearing dress pants. They're great for wearing to the office, or even going out at night for drinks. They're not hard to walk in so if you happen to get a little tipsy, you shouldn't have a problem walking. Not unless you've had too many drinks!
You can get these shoes at most department stores. Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom. I also remember seeing them at Baker's. You can also look online for them as well...But if you have coupons from Macy's (as I do cause they send them out all the time!) you might want to try them there. Who knows, you might be able to save on them!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Victoria's Secret hoodies, Mac makeup, TV shows

I went shopping today...yet again...Big surprise. I had to go to Victoria's Secret to return something...wrong size...long story. But they got in all new hoodies from the last time I was in there. So cute...and now I wanna get a new one too. Meanwhile, I didn't even wear the one I got yet. But anyway, I've been taking advantage of the 5 for $25 underwear deal they have. I love the underwear they have, it's so cute and have so many cute patterns. I really like the ones they have that are slightly longer like boy shorts, they're really comfortable.

Bling Signature Hoodie
They also have matching sweats!

Mac Makeup:

Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow. I just picked this up last week when I was going to get an eyeshadow set. This looked really interesting to me, since I always mix eyeshadows to do smoky eyes...or just light and dark contrast. I'll post my eyeshadow colors and how I do that, later on. But these are really good because you get a few different colors in one eyeshadow, and they all go really well together. (obviously mac made them for that reason!) But they come in lots of colors. Silversmith, Mi Lady (a pink tone), Earthly Riches, and Family Silver. So you have lots of options, which I like...but it always takes me forever to decide on anything. I got the color shown above, the Engaging.

The other thing I really am loving is the eyeshadow set that I just got. They have 4 different sets. Cool, Warm, Smoky, and Metallic. I ended up with the Warm set, because the tones were different from those I had at home. I liked the color Sunday Best, which was ivory and also a frost. In case you didn't know, mac's eyeshadow have different textures (finishes as they call it). Frost which is my favorite is kind of shimmery. Like it will catch the light in a certain way and shine....or as the website says it "adds a highlight" to the base eyeshadow color. There are many more, and the website explains them probably better than I could. Just click on eyeshadow and then finishes.

Mascara: Favorites: More expensive vs. less expensive.
I also just bought Plush Lash Mascara and it works so well. It really makes your lashes thick just like it says. It's $11.00 which isn't bad at all. I also found that it doesn't clump or doesn't get on your face while putting it on. So all in all, I'm loving this mascara!

Favorite Drugstore Mascara:

Maybelline Mascara Volume Express.

This mascara really worked well with volumizing my lashes. It didn't clump or streak off while putting on. I hate that since I always do my eyes after I put on my face makeup....One false move and you can inadvertingly have all black lash marks under your eyes. So this mascara really did not do that! I also like to get mascara in waterproof when I can, cause you never know! My eyes tend to water alot and with waterproof you don't have to worry! This mascara is sold at most stores...CVS, Harmon, Walmart, Target. It ranges probably from $5-6.00 depending on what stores you have in the area.

TV SHOWS! Tonight's tv shows:

The Bachelor Season Finale's tonight!

I usually always watch the bachelor and always end up getting really addicted to it!~Tonight, the bachelor aka Brad Womack will choose between Jenni (Phoenix Suns Dancer) or Deanna (Realtor from Georgia). Who will he choose? I never, ever can predict who will be chosen. Every season I always try to pick, but I'm never right. I think the show edits it to look as though he likes one better, and then he always picks the other. Any thoughts on who will be chosen?
Jon & Kate Plus 8: 8:30pm on TLC. Also on during the day.
Meet Jon and Kate Gosselin who have eight children. Twin 6 year old girls, Mady and Cara.
They also have sextuples (six three year olds) three girls and three boys. The show chronicles their daily life which is quite amazing and adventurous with that many children running around the house. My mom and I watch it all the time and have fallen in love with the family! The children are so cute and its amazing Jon and Kate have that many hours in the day to do it all! I give them madd props! But definately check the show out!
Samantha Who? ABC 9:30pm.
Love the show! Christina Applegate is great in it, playing the part of Samantha Newly who has just woken up and now has amnesia. The show's really funny as she finds out that her old self was less than nice. I love her old boyfriend, Todd, (played by Barry Watson) who was on What About Brain, which was sadly canceled last year.
So check out those shows! That was just my latest insight in the world of shopping, makeup and tv. Have a great day everyone!

Nordstrom...Shoes, Uggs, n Coats

So I decided to search for things on the Nordstrom website. They have so many great departments that you can find most anything. Shoes, bags, makeup, clothes. I also really like their junior department (BP). I go there so much the salesgirl even knows my name. The people that work there are really helpful too. Not annoyingly helpful either like at some stores. They also have a great credit card rewards program. For every dollar you spent you get a point, and if you get 2000 points, you get a $20 Nordstrom gift certificate. Plus, at Nordstrom you get double points for every dollar you spend. So if you charge things alot, you'll be getting gift certificates every few months! So check that out!

As most people living in the NYC area, it gets really cold this time of year. I hate the cold! So I love warm jackets, socks and all sweaters. I just recently got a pair of black uggs and I'm in love with them. They are the most comfortable shoes ever! I seriously would wear them all the time if I could. I decided on the black ones cause I'm always wearing black and I could accessorize with it really easily. I'm also thinking of getting another pair in the chestnut color so I could wear them w/ brown or black!

Nordstrom also had black uggs that were higher w/ fur all along the trim. They were really cute but I couldn't find them on the website while I was searching. I think they were around $199.

I also saw Juicy socks at Nordstrom that were so cute. They were pink...but these I thought were cute as well. Their socks department, has such a wide selection of comfy socks. They have the softest and warmest socks that are only $10! I bought a pair for my mom for her birthday.

In my search for a new coat for the season, I found this one that I really liked. It looks very professional for those of you working. But it's also cute for those of you in college or not yet in the professional working world.
Website in case you wanna search:
That's my insight for today. Stay warm!

1st Entry

This is my first post. This blog will be about my two favorite things: Makeup and fashion. I'm going to be posting about things that are my favorite at the moment. I'm 23 years old, just graduated college and am working but also job searching. I love, love, love shopping and make sure I hit the mall at least once a week. I'm always looking for new stuff 2 wear no matter the occasion. I also love makeup. I like more expensive makeup...mac, chanel, clinique, and also drugstore covergirl eyeshadows. Nothing wrong with a bargain as long as its a cute shade! That's bascially it for today...my new favorite eyeshadow covergirl champaign. It's like 2.66 or something and it's an off white color but it really lights up your face. It also stays on all day. Go check it out! http://www.covergirl.com/

Also, I just went to Express...one of my favorite stores. They have the best clothes for going out and also for working...really nice pants and sweaters. They have a new coupon book for the holiday season so if you go there and spent I think $100 you'll probably get it.

Cute things I found there: http://www.expressfashion.com/

Really cute sweater w/ one of their cute camis underneath.
Love this dress! You can't really tell from this picture, but it has sparkles in the fabric. It also comes in black.

They also have this in pink 2...

Happy shopping! :)
